Without boring you, let me first apologize for the lack of updates and then immediately blame that lack of updates on Bluehost, my slow-as-fuck-to-repond-to-helpdesk-complaints and hopefully-soon-to-be-former webhost service. Basically, if you view this site in Microsoft's Internet Explorer, you're fucked, because it only loads half the time and even then you have to click and refresh until your clicking finger hurts. However, if you use Firefox (which is far superior to IE anyhow), you CAN view the site. Make sense? No, I didn't think so. And as far as Safari and other browsers are concerned? Who even knows. Bluehost, please answer a fucking helpdesk question!
Okay, enough cursing and venting. This week has been a blur. Last weekend when Michelle and I (pictured above - I really like this picture) attended our friends Dave and Karen's wedding everything was going great. It was a fun affair [Full wedding pix here]. The reception was held in Ligonier and we got to hang out with some good friends and even reconnect with some folks we hadn't seen in a long time (what's up Derek Curry). I also had the opportunity to drink far too much alcohol, which is always good and bad. Being that I was supposed to be the designated driver, that was bad. So Michelle shouldered the burden of adulthood and began sobering up long before we drove (thanks kiddo).Sobering up the next day wasn't so bad really. We both felt the usual dehydration from too much alcohol consumed, but that's life. Then, on Sunday night, I got this crazy fever that kept rising. I could barely sleep, ended up calling off work on Monday. Thought all was well by the end of the day, then my fever spikes again in the evening (102) and I enjoy another night of bizarre, feverish dreams (i.e. my usual end-of-the-world scenario dreams where I'm outrunning robots who are liquifying the people around me but I'm still faced with basic challenges, like a car with a front tire that leaks air and you have to fill up every two days... stupid right? I know, this is my brain).
I returned to work yesterday, but my throat feels like I swallowed a cheese grater. Then, of course, Ethan started coughing the night before that and his cough continues to sound worse. During all of this time Michelle starts feeling worse and worse -- basically getting what I had. Then our Volkswagen dies, so Michelle has no car while I'm 40+ miles away at my glamorous dayjob. The garage fixing the car doesn't call all day yesterday, so I stop there as we're passing through last night. I catch one of the mechanics, who tells me, "Oh yeah, the tech should have called you. We need more time to isolate the problem." Of course, we never got a phone call, but thanks fella. And of course, it costs $70 for every hour these guys clock as they attempt to isolate why our car battery continues to die (no, it's not the alternator). Don't buy a VW. It's just not worth it. Fuckin' Germans. Okay, this has devolved into me being confused and forgetting my original reason for writing this explosion of words. We will talk again soon, I promise.
